Bl., mit ganzseitigem Holzschnitt-Wappen verso Titel und großer Holzschnitt-Vignette am Ende Neuer Pappband unter Verwendung eines Blattes einer frühen Livius-Ausgabe (?) mit schönem grossem Holzschnitt VD 16 G 2145; Richter 372; nicht bei Adams, Lentner und Pfister. Erste und wohl einzige Ausgabe dieser Schilderung der Stadt Nürnberg und ihrer Erfolge in Kriegen sowie Friedenszeiten. Der neulateinische Dichter und Humanist Rasmus Glad stammte aus Dänemark, sein Werk gilt als eine der ersten Beschreibungen Nürnbergs durch einen Ausländer, der die Stadt wohl nie betreten hatte. Buch I folgt dem Lauf der Regnitz, des Mains und Rheins mit Lob einiger deutscher Städte. Im zweiten Buch wird die Gründung und ältere Geschichte Nürnbergs geschildert, im dritten die Gebäude, Gewerbe und wichtigsten Geschlechter. Das vierte Buch schliesslich lobt Nürnberg als Hort der Tugend in einem Zeitalter von übertriebenem Laster und Luxus (vgl. Walter Gebhard, in: Mitteilungen des Vereins für Geschichte der Stadt Nürnberg 89. Band. 2002. S. 47-62). Das Werk ist dem Rat der Stadt mit einer recht langen Zuschrift in Prosa gewidmet, die auf den 17. Januar 1572 in Kopenhagen datiert ist. - Gleichmässig etwas gebräunt, sonst gut erhalten und hübsch gebunden.
