Other pages are toned but clean without marks, stains or wrinkles. Many pages have bend or crease in the upper right corner. Others have a small bump along the fore-edge. The covers and spine lightly soiled, lightly rubbed, with a few short tears in edges and a few light creases. There is no reading crease in the spine and the book does not lean. Originally published in the US by Croydon in 1953 as a paperback original under the name William Vaneer which was a pen named used by James W. Lampp. The consensus seems to be that the Lancer edition was attributed to Whittington by misake. UK price label at the top of the front cover. Small piece torn from the top edge of the back cover which has a light crease near the bottom left corner. Otherwise only light edge and surface wear to the covers. Discolouration to the top edges of the pages. Insides of covers and pages browned and there is a tiny nick to the edge of page 35 but the pages are otherwise clean and unmarked. First printing of the Lancer edition. Postage charge will be reduced by £1.50 when the order is processed.
