Zustand: Hervorragend | Seiten: 258 | Sprache: Englisch | Produktart: Bücher | Pieces of Life is a collection of stories written by the Landfall Writers Group established in 2015 in the community of Landfall in Wilmington NC. The stories include fiction, non -fiction, memories and family history. Following a brief biographical sketch the author readings are arranged to be read in sequence. We hope you find them to be entertaining and enjoyable. You might even shed a tear and have a few good laughs. What are some others saying about Pieces of Life? Pieces of Life is a nifty book of sketches and stories that will catch your eye and your heart, and you'll say, "Whoa. Writers are among us." The stories are visual and clear and written extremely well. Some will bring a tear-or an out loud laugh. Or both. It's so good to know that people who have or who are pursuing many walks of life see that the making of literature can bring us all closer. The writers in Pieces of life highlight the kinds of relationships and feelings and griefs and joys that make us human, together on the same journey, after all. I hope many other communities follow the example set forth between these covers, and form such a group as the Landfall Writer's Group. Vibrancy prevails! Clyde Edgerton, Ph D, Kenan Professor of Creative Writing University of North Carolina Wilmington, author of The Night Train and Walking Across Egypt. We love stories because we all live our own. When we hear someone else's story, well-told, it can offer light for our own path through life. This book is full of short and delightful tales, told by a group of my neighbors who meet regularly to encourage each other as writers. They can make you laugh, cry, and ponder the wonders of your own adventure, as you take in these snippets of life and thought. Dip in anywhere. I bet you hit on something you'll like.
