1926. (Hardcover) Very good, no dust jacket. 310pp. Burgundy cloth with gilt lettering on the spine. Map endpapers, frontispiece, plates, notes, index. A slight lean. "During the first four years after my father came out to Canada he wrote home to his family circle in England a series of letters which form the first part of this collection. These letters were carefully copied by his father, to whom they were chiefly addressed, and were bound in book form. They have thus been preserved in their entirety. The reason for copying them is suggested by the only surviving original letter. At that time letters were sent without envelopes and, as postage was changed by the sheet and was expensive, long letters, like this which survives, were so diligently 'crossed' in the writing that they were difficult to read or refer to" - from the Preface by W. A. Langton. Letters of John Langton. Book about Audit Office. Time Period 19th Century. Locale: Blythe--Ontario; Canada; Peterborough--Ontario; Upper Canada. (Canada, Settlement--Canada).
hardcover. Condition: New. In shrink wrap. Looks like an interesting title!
