A scarce collection of sermons by Lanrin, Grosvenor and others Includes a sermon by Joseph Hall, a bishop satirist and moralist and a highly controversial figure of the 1640s. In stiff card bindings. Externally, worn with rubbing and bumping. Joints and hinges failed with boards held by cords only. Dampstainig to front board. Backstrip missing. Previous owner plate to front pastedown and ink inscription to front endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound although strained in places. Pages bright with occasional spot and tidemarks to early pages. Fair. book.
