"Laskarin has a stated interest in doubt and uncertainty, which he sees as important qualities in his work. He believes viewers become creatively engaged when they can't easily identify objects. Often, elements of his work that contain scarcely enough information to be recognizable are juxtaposed with other references to destabilize easy decoding." - Foreword. Clean, bright and unmarked with very light wear. A high-quality copy.

Soft cover. Condition: Very Good ++. Colour Plates (illustrator). First Edition. Laskarin is a Victoria, British Columbia artist. Some type of whimsical construction (think wood, steel, aluminum, etc.) seems to be his favourite creative milieu. Industrial would be a good adjective. Three of his pieces are titled (for flavour) `Umbilicus', `Row Your Boat', and `Jack the Wagon '. List of his gallery appearances at back. Looks like an exhibition catalogue but that is not quite accurate. Cond : Paper wrapper is orangey with blue lettering. Front cover graphic is a close-up of one of his constructions and involves a jack and a lot of plastic wrap. Volume is tight, bright, square. and cleanwith one cover crease. Neither Laskarin nor a curator were tempted to write a biography of, or commentary on, his techniques and influences. Size: 4to.
