This is a promotional program for the New York City Ballet (NYCB) for c. 1986-1987. Lincoln Kirstein is listed as NYCB's Director. The following are some of the contents: "Responsibilities of Repertory" by Otis Stuart (article about NYCB and its repertory); "Dressing a Ballet" by Toni Bentley (article about NYCB's costume designers and costume designs); NYCB Ballet Calendar for 1985-1987; credits for NYCB officers and staff; black-and-white photographic portrait illustrations; and stills and show credits for NYCB productions such as Shadows, Songs of the Auvergne, Quiet City, Piccolo Balletto, Brahms-Schoenberg Quartet, Swan Lake, Slaughter on Tenth Avenue, Prodigal Son, Interplay, Episodes, and Dances at a Gathering. NYCB was founded by George Balanchine and Lincoln Kirstein in 1948. It became closely associated with the School of American Ballet (SAB), a ballet dance school that was founded in 1934 by Balanchine, Kirstein, and Edward Warburg. Both NYCB and SAB are still in business and work closely together to this day.
