Todos los capítulos incluyen un número importante de cuidadas y rigurosas disecciones realizadas desde planos superficiales a más profundos, tratando de exponer el mayor número de estructuras anatómicas. La mayoría de las imágenes corresponden a fotografías de disecciones realizadas por los propios autores con cadáveres en fresco, a fin de mostrar el color real de las estructuras, órganos y tejidos diseccionados. Asimismo, para una mejor visualización de los vasos sanguíneos, en algunos especímenes los trayectos arteriales y venosos han sido resaltados mediante técnicas de repleción vascular con látex rojo (arterias) y azul (venas). Los capítulos se complementan con fotografías de cortes anatómicos (anatomía seccional) y con imágenes radiográficas, endoscópicas, de tomografía computarizada (TC) y de resonancia magnética (RM) que además de mostrar las estructuras anatómicas desde el punto de vista de las técnicas de imagen, son de gran interés para el veterinario clínico.
