[Me_moires authentiques, etc.] The translator Benjamin Henry Latrobe (1764 Ğ1820) was a British neoclassical architect who emigrated to the United States and is best known for his design of the United States Capitol, along with his work on the Old Baltimore Cathedral/The Baltimore Basilica, the first Roman Catholic Cathedral constructed in the United States. He spoke 7 languages and it is obviously this skill which brought this translation work. Decent sound copy in full contemporary tree calf style binding with gilt lettered spine label and gilt lining at spine Slight scuffing and rubbing but very good with clean text.
