Complete in two volumes. I-viii+392pp, II-viii+397pp. Three quarter bound in tan leather with marbled remainder, endpapers and all page edges. Five raised bands and two title plates to spine. Rubbing to extremities, heavier to spine. Marbled page edges and endpapers. Front board of volume two detached but present. Stain to Vol.I title page.

Two volumes, pages.xliv+iv+412+viii+460, appendices: rebound in later half Kangaroo leather, spines gilt decorated, gilt lettered titles & volume labels, dark green cloth boards, marbled edges, offset endpapers. Autobiography of Napoleon's protege, who rose from being the General's aide-du-camp to the Emperor's Postmaster-General. A clean, sound copy with very little foxing.

2 Volumes. Hardback, Tall 8vo, 8.5 x 5.5 inches. Full red morocco leather fine bindings by ?A. TAFFIN.? Gilt lettering, gilt decoration and raised banding to spines, and extensively decorated gilt paneled boards and wide inner dentelles. Marbled endpapers, top page edges gilt. In very good conditions. Lovely bright clean bindings. Hinges weakening, partial cracks to ends of front hinges. Some light rubbing to boards. Endpapers darkened, half title in vol.1 darkened and main title in vol.2. A couple of minor handling marks else pages all very clean and tight throughout. Else very clean and tight copies. 412 & 459pp. Count Lavallette, (1769-1830), French politician and one of Napoleon?s generals. This volumes deal with the period 1789 to 1805. Important memoirs, being the first-hand account of a trusted staff officer, friend, and connection by marriage of Napoleon.
