Add to basketn.d., c.1865. Lithographic map with hand colour. Sheet 495 x 660mm, dissected and laid on linen, as issued, with contemprary slipcase with mapseller's label. Some staining to edges of map. A detailed map of Bristol and Clifton with extsnive keys down the sides linked to a grid on the map. The Clifton Suspension Bridge, opened in 1864, is shown but with no access roads. John Lavers, a Bristol lithographer and publisher, operated from Broadstreet Hall between 1862 and 1874. He is best known for a panoramic view of Bristol produced from plate glass camera photographs taken from a tethered balloon 2,000 feet above the city.
