"Being an account of the recent uprising in the Transvaal; the grievances of the Uitlanders which led to their revolution against the Boers, and the causes and failure of the Jamieson raid; together with illustrations, maps, and sundry facts here collected and put down for the first time." Mendelssohn South African Bibliography Vol. 1, p. 420: "A sketch of the Raid, and of the revolution in Johannesburg, with some details respecting the grievances of the Uitlanders. The author had an interview with Mr. John J. Hammond, and discussed the charge of cowardice which had been brought against the Reform Committee. He became convinced that its members did not merit the accusation under which they had rested, and gives his reasons at some length for the conclusion he had arrived at. The pamphlet contains several portraits, maps, and illustrations.".
