Die Kinder 'erben', wenn nicht den Beruf, häufig zumindest den Bildungsstand ihrer Eltern. Dieser hat schon früh einen großen Einfluss auf den zukünftigen Bildungsverlauf der Kinder. Aber auch andere Faktoren (Geschlecht, Herkunft, sozialer Status), welche sich überwiegend klar benennen lasse, spielen eine erhebliche Rolle in der Entwicklung. Der Frage, wie Eltern das erfolgreiche Vorankommen ihrer Nachkommen unterstützen oder aber auch behindern soll nachgegangen werden.Die Wirkung verschiedener Einzelursachen aufeinander sowie deren Einfluss auf den Bildungsverlauf bilden die Basis für diese Arbeit. Nach einem einführenden theoretischen Teil wird das zur Verfügung stehende Material, einem Interview mit der Mutter eines schulpflichtigen Kindes, welche selbst einen 'wenig erfolgreichen Bildungsverlauf' aufweist, mittels einer intersektionalen Auswertung nach Degele Winker näher betrachtet. Es handelt sich hierbei um ein leitfadengestützes Interview, welches unter Berücksichtigung der ersten vier Punkte der 'Acht Schritte einer intersektionalen Mehrebenenanalyse' aus dem Buch Intersektionalität, Winker G., Degele N. aus dem Jahr 2009, untersucht wird.Die Arbeit greift im gesamten Verlauf auf unterschiedliche Theorien und Ansätze zurück, welche sich auf die Weitervererbung und Sozialisierung von Bildungsabschlüssen sowie den positiven als auch negativen Auswirkungen auf folgende Generationen im Rahmen des Konzepts der Intersektionalität beziehen.
