Ralph Nading Hill (1917-1987) was an American historian and author best known for his works on New England maritime history and technology, including The Winooski and The Shipbuilders of Essex. Lee Judah Ames (1921-2011) was an American illustrator, artist, and author, celebrated for his distinctive, energetic pen-and-ink style and for his long career producing illustrated nonfiction for children.
