Quarter leather binding with marbled paper covered boards and black spine labels with gilt lettering; two volume set. Rubbing and some light wear to spines, with some starting (about 2 cm) to head of front joint of Volume 2. Some chipping to spine label of Volume 2. Some bumping and wear to corners of boards, and rubbing to boards. Names of previous owners on front free endpapers. Uneven toning to endpapers, with some small stains on front free endpaper and half-title page of Volume 1. Mild foxing throughout both volumes. Some underlining and marginalia in red, blue, and black pencil scattered over last 70 pages of Volume 1. Small 10 mm closed tear to fore-edge of one of the folded plates. Bindings both firm. This two volume set was previously owned by the Austrian philospher of science, Paul Feyerabend. Both volumes bear his name stamp, his initial stamp, and his handwritten initials on the front free endpapers of both volumes. Laid in to the first volume is a scrap of paper with writing on both sides, and we believe that both this scrap and the marginalia in Volume 1 are in his hand. . Hard Cover. Very Good.
