Callwey 1914).… Tadellos. Original im Passepartout montiert. Sehr guter Zustand.Cecile Leo (1858 Groß-Barthen bei Königsberg - 1926 Göttingen). Deutsche Scherenschnitt-Künstlerin und Grafikerin. Enkelin des preußischen Hofmalers Wilhelm Hensel (1774-1861) und Fanny Cäcilia, der Schwester von Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy. Im Haus der Eltern in Berlin Westend verkehrten zahlreiche Künstler. Ihre Tante, die Dichterin Luise Hensel (1798-1876), weckte ihre Begeisterung für den Scherenschnitt. 1883 Heirat mit dem Philologen Friedrich Leo. Sie lebten zunächst in Rostock, später in Göttingen. Während ihre frühen Scherenschnitte noch an den Realismus von Paul Konewka anschließen, wird in den 1890er Jahren der Einfluss des Jugendstils greifbar. 1914 gab der Kunstwart im Callwey-Verlag in München die Mappe Schattenschnitte mit teilweise goldgehöhten Schwarzdrucken nach Scherenschnitten zu diversen Dichtungen heraus. Später veröffentlichte sie ihre Scherenschnitte als Ausstattung von Kalender etc. Rechts unten typografisch bezeichnet: CECILE LEO: KAMINFEUER. 18,0 x 15,8 cm (Darstellung), 30 x 24 cm (Blatt), 42,5 x 31,5 cm (Passepartout).

Ihre Tante, die Dichterin Luise Hensel (1798-1876), weckte ihre Begeisterung für den Scherenschnitt. 1883 Heirat mit dem Philologen Friedrich Leo. Sie lebten zunächst in Rostock, später in Göttingen. Während ihre frühen Scherenschnitte noch an den Realismus von Paul Konewka anschließen, wird in den 1890er Jahren der Einfluss des Jugendstils greifbar. 1914 gab der Kunstwart im Callwey-Verlag in München die Mappe Schattenschnitte mit teilweise goldgehöhten Schwarzdrucken nach Scherenschnitten zu diversen Dichtungen heraus. Später veröffentlichte sie ihre Scherenschnitte als Ausstattung von Kalender etc. Rechts unten typografisch bezeichnet: CECILE LEO: LENZ TRIUMPHATOR.
