First Edition
Soft cover. Condition: Fair. 1st Edition, Illustrated Edition. 24 x 17 cms. .63 truly charming pages in this 88 year old paperback. Ads are a joy but the linocuts by Hornung & George are very impressive. Asking price may sound somewhat over the top.but included in this item is unsigned original pen and watercolour sketch dated November 1922 from a grateful and affectionate artist friend to the author Dumand. It is just possible that the artist was either George or more likely Hornung a resident of Geneva and a friend of Leon Dunard. if the letter is true the price of BOTH book and sketch with dedication to the author 3 years prior to publication make this s bargain item indeed. See Images for idea of quality and originality of the gift from artist to author.
