One finds more commonly the 1767 edition. IIllustrated with 17 folding engraved plates. Lepaute built most of the clocks of the public buildings of Paris (Luxembourg, Tuileries, Palais-Royal, Jardin des Plantes), and some clocks of great precision. He introduced innumerable improvements to his art and is the inventor of the peg escapement. An interesting preface recounts the history of time measurement until the 18th century. Couverture rigide. Condition: Bon.
