He was present at Arkansas Post , Chickamauga , Missionary Ridge , the Atlanta Campaign and Franklin . He also was a prisoner at Camp Douglas in Illinois . This diary was discovered in 1987 in the UNITED DAUGHTERS OF THE CONFEDERACY chapter in Victoria Texas .

Thirteen essays on the history of the German Baptists of North America, that cover a variety branch activities. Beginning with the founding of the earliest churches in the 1840s, it covers the period on up through the 1930s.
