Rückengold geblichen, Einband leicht bekratzt, innen teils etwas braunfleckig, insgesamt gut erhalten, die Marginalien der Zeit wurden von mir nicht ausgewertet. EA der Erstveröffentlichung mit umfangreichem Subskriptionsverzeichnis (S. VI - XXXIV) und ca. 70 Seiten handschriftlicher Anmerkungen der Zeit. Erste Ausgabe des seltenen Erstlingswerks des Stäfner Politikers und Schriftstellers Johann Jakob Leuthy (1798 - 1855). Der aus einfachen Verhältnissen stammende Leuthy war Küfer und trat mit 31 Jahren mit dem vorliegenden Gedichtband erstmals als Dichter an die Öffentlichkeit. Fortan wirkte er als Journalist und gründete 1832 mit der "Zeitung vom Zürich-See" die erste Zeitung in der Zürcher Landschaft. Politisch gehörte Leuthy zu den extremen Radikalen und bekämpfte Heinrich Escher ebenso wie Johann Caspar Bluntschli. Der extremen Haltung wegen musste die Zeitung bereits 1834 ihr Erscheinen wieder einstellen. (vgl. Wikipedia).
