With two folds. Thirty-nine lines of text. The handwriting is a paradox; neat but difficult to decipher. Addressed to 'My dear Mlle de [Schmidt…?]' and signed 'Charles Lever'. He begins by claiming that the speed with which he accepted her 'most kind & cordial invitation' for her daughter is the best proof he can give of the value he attaches to it '& the sincere satisfaction it affords me'. He continues with reference to 'the last stage of the journey', 'Sydney' and the London weather.
