Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 8vo. N.d, [ca. 1880s-90s?]. New brown cloth binding, burgundy spine label. New endpapers. 66 ff., [9 ff.]. Four leaves lacking (13, 40, 49, 51). Over 70 pages of examples of two- and three-letter monograms and example alphabets intended for jewellery engraving, chiefly 12 monograms to each leaf except the last nine which feature more smaller examples. Light soiling to edges of text block. Interior is age toned, some marginal chipping. Paper repairs to last leaf. Damp stain to lower margin of title page. Levy, Dreyfus & Co of 11 Maiden Lane, NY was a maker of jewellery, clocks, watches, opera glasses, and optical and mathematical instruments. Pocket to rear pastedown with nine pieces of ephemera with additional examples of monograms and lettering-several from F.W. Crocker Monogram System, South Haven, Michigan, 1924; one folded style chart for jewelry and silver engraving addressed to D. Brown Jewellers, Oshawa, Ontario, 1942 with 1 cent Canadian stamp and franking stamps. A scarce item. 0.
