Hardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. First Edition. 145 pages (complete). In Low Dutch throughout. A very RARE copy of this memoir of a Prisoner-of-War during the Anglo-Boer war. A generously owned copy. The frontispage has a previous owner signature (P J dek de Villiers, Boschkloof, Calsdon, Oct 6th 1902). There is also a more recent gift inscription. The boards have much wear, marking, scuffing all about. The corners are knocked. The spine too, has wear and is scruffy. However, the scarlet boards and spine are comfortable and secure. Within, the contents have evidence of contented use throughout. The front and later papers have owner marks. The pages have some handling marks, corner creases, wear about the edges, occasional age related marks/ foxing. Betrifft einen Streit um die Zahlung von Hauptgeld an Christoph von Lichtenburg ("Cristoffen von liechtennpurgk"). Erwähnt sind die Wörter Schuldverschreibung, Aufkündigung und Schadlosbrief. Gotha 1534 Deutsche Handschrift auf Papier, datiert Gotha, Sonnabend nach Reminiszere 1534 (d.i. der 7. März 1534). --- Format: 32,3 x 21,5 cm. --- Mit großem papiergedeckten Siegel (mit Wappen der Stadt Gotha) und Anmerkung des Empfängers über den Inhalt des Briefes, wohl von Johann Friedrich I. eigenhändig geschrieben? Zustand: Kräftiges Papier fleckig; Papier neben dem Siegel eingeschnitten. Johann Friedrich I. von Sachsen, auch Friedrich der Großmütige genannt, (* 30. Juni 1503 in Torgau; gest. 3. März 1554 in Weimar) aus dem Hause der ernestinischen Wettiner war von 1532 bis 1547 Kurfürst und Herzog von Sachsen und nach dem Verlust der Kurwürde 1547 bis zu seinem Tod nur noch Herzog des ernestinischen Landesteils.
