Near fine This traces the history of the 9th Australian Field Ambulance (AIF) from its formation in 1916, through the muddy fields of Flanders, and then during WWII, during the New Guinea Campaign until disbandment in 1944. Also outlines the formation of the 2/9th Field Ambulance and its service in Singapore until the Japanese invaded Malaya. It describes in details the bitter but brief fighting in Singapore, and the subsequent incarceration of the unit at Changi. 3 Chapters deal with the POW experience which includes work on the Burma Thailand Railway. Also cover post WWII service. Includes Roll of Honour, honours and awards and nominal rolls.
