Beginning in legendary antiquity the Shahnama or "Book of Kings" sweeps across ages of Persian civilization i and epic poem of some 60,000 verse by the 10th Century poet Firdausi. Its stream f events traces the fortunes of heroes and kings, telling of their exploits and splendor, their vast armies and devastating wars. The Story of Rustam is a favorite drama, he was the most extraordinary of heroes, a major figure in the mythical period of the epic, was destined from birth to be a guardian, and sometimes savior to the Persian people. Rustam had a lifespan of six hundred years and continued his principles of righteousness to the very last. A clean very presentable copy.
