Anders Lindeberg (1789-1849) var kapten, och sedan han lämnat militären dramatiker och publicist och aktiv i de olika tryckfrihetsmålen under Karl XIV Johan, bl.a. som försvarare av Crusenstolpe. Han var mycket flitig. Efter att stött på flera motgångar inom teatervärlden riktade Lindeberg i en serie pamfletter och tidningsartiklar häftig kritik mot det statliga teatermonopolet. Han utvecklade denna kritik i ?Sverige år 1809 och 1832? och i föreliggande skrift till att omfatta hela regeringsmaktens utövande. Ingenting hjälpte och 1834 ingav han en skrivelse till JO där han anklagade konungen för att handla lagstridigt och egennyttigt i teaterfrågan. Detta ledde till åtal för majestätsbrott och Lindeberg dömdes till döden genom halshuggning. En dom som - till Lindegrens förtret - inte verkställdes. Han insisterade på att få bli avrättad på sin födelsedag den 8 november, tillika årsdagen för Stockholms blodbad. Regeringen ville dock med varje medel undvika att förse oppositionen med en martyr, och räddade ansiktet genom en allmän amnesti till åminnelse av 24-årsdagen av Karl Johans ankomst till Sverige. Gustav Oxenstierna (1793-1860) var stor mecenat inom musikvärlden och som donerade sitt stora musikbibliotek till Musikaliska akademien. Hardcover / Hardback.
