It looks at such issues as American anti-Semitism, apathy of the State Department, and the deliberate suppression of information that European Jews were slated for genocide. This disturbing account is framed by the moving story of Kurt Klein, who escaped from Germany in 1937 and came to the U.S. Like thousands of others, he struggled to bring his parents to the "haven" of America. The Kleins, however, were hampered by the restrictive immigration policies of the time, which were not amended until it was too late for most European Jews.` No Stains, No Odors, No Writing, No Names, No Rippling, Not Stuck Together, No Book Plate, Not X~Library. = Description Applies To This B00K, Only, Which Is Hard To Find, Will Be Packaged And Shipped = Carefully, To Avoid Shipping Damage And Will Make It, An Excellent Addition To Your Own Personal Library Collection, Or As A Gift For The Discriminating Reader / Collector/.
