Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. Barker, Cicely Mary (illustrator). 12 tipped-in colour plates with music to accompany words. Light foxing to endpapers and some page margins. All firm. The boards with picture pastedown and cloth spine have some discolouration to fore corners but are otherwise bright.

Tear to the top back of the dust jacket. There is wear to the corners and edges of the covers. Browning to the front and rear free pages. Clean inside with tipped in pictures.

Collection of songs set for piano and voice, each song beautifully accompanied by tipped in colour plates by the author.

Dust jacket is complete with price (2/6 net) and color illustration on front and list of books for children on back. The book itself is VG with occasional foxing. The cover has a few small tears with a small piece missing on the back else VG. The songs and illustrations are all of the Flower Fairies. Illustrated by Barker. Uncommon in DJ.

Previous owner's name on endpaper, dated 1941. Songs with music for voice and piano by Olive Linnell. Lovely volume, much of its time and perfect for those who love the Cicely Mary Barker's Flower Fairies. Jacket fitted with archival-quality mylar wrapper to protect & prolong its life. Written and illustrated by Cicely Mary Barker, an English artist and writer best known as the illustrator who created the famous Flower Fairies, in the shape of ethereal smiling children with butterfly wings. With music from Olive Linnell, an English musician. Dated from the Royal College of Music Library. In the original quarter cloth binding with pictorial paper covered boards. Externally, sound with light wear and chipping to the extremities. The odd mark or spot to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot or handling mark. Further spotting to the endpapers. Good. book.

Inner hinge cracked, but contents clean although showing signs of aging. Wrapper is soiled, chipped and worn and also a little creased at extremities, its lacking small portions from bottom margin of front and rear covers o/w a good sound copy.

(This is a case in which the dust cover did its job well!).
