These two laws, the Principle of Equivalence and the Principle of Carnot, demonstrate that heat and mechanical work are interchangeable forms of energy. The author delves into the implications of the laws and provides a thorough analysis of the ideas behind them. Throughout the book, the author focuses on the importance of closed cycles in the application of these principles. Understanding the laws of thermodynamics is crucial for comprehending the operation of heat engines and other devices that convert heat into work. This book is essential reading for anyone interested in thermodynamics and its applications in various scientific disciplines, from physics to engineering. Its insights provide a foundation for further exploration of the subject and its relevance to our understanding of energy transformations. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

Couverture rigide.
