Stated First Edition. 256 pages. This is the 4th book (of 5) in Alexander's Prydain series. This copy is signed and inscribed on the half title page. Alexander has written, 'For Carroll Bock[??] from Lloyd Alexander. 3 Oct 1981' Alexander won the Newbery Medal for The High King (the final book in this series) and the National Book award twice.
