Original DJ has white borders (toned) and color panel across the middle. Price of $4.50 on the front flap. DJ is a mylar protector. No date on title page. Copyright page dated 1967. Stated First Edition. 256 pages. This is the 4th book (of 5) in Alexander's Prydain series. This copy is signed and inscribed on the half title page. Alexander has written, 'For Carroll Bock[??] from Lloyd Alexander. 3 Oct 1981' Alexander won the Newbery Medal for The High King (the final book in this series) and the National Book award twice. Even without the signature, the first edition of this title has become quite scarce. This copy is in very good condition, with DJ faded as usual. Please email with questions or to request photos.
