From an archive of Sutton-Coldfield ephemeral item once in the possession of Vincent Holbeche. With this and sold as one are; an 1867 pencil sketch of the station part finished by E. S. Addenbrooke + sepia photo of the station exterior with a pencil sketch of Sutton dated 1856 (amateur hand) + a FIRST class ticket dated 1862 (purported to be the first issued AND the owner Vincent Holbeche had to get off in Birmingham and buy another ticket, so he didn't have to hand this in EXTREMELY unusual and rare) Signed by the station master by hand. Some album blue paper adhesion on the reverse and hand-written over the front by the passenger Vincent Holbeche. + Ticket stub for London to Sutton Coldfield via Whiteacre c1880 or earlier? + Sheppard's Omnibuses time-table From Birmingham to Erdington & Sutton single sided stiff card, with adhesion on the back + Printed 2 page document the minutes of a meeting in 1833 of the General Board of Management of the Company making a Railway between London and Birmingham held at Cornhill 23rd January 1833 "Mr Isaac Solly in the chair and Richard Creed & C.R. Moorsom secretaries. The cost would be estimated or priced at £56261 2 shillings and 8d (a bundle of 7 items). IMPORTANT NOTE: *We can find NO other example of this time-table and none found as early as 1862 at time of researches. + the significance of it being the one before the actual start date of the service is of immense rarity + the oblong part printed ticket believed to be the first day of issue Ticket for a 1st class passenger and Number 2068. make this a very rare group of items of important early railwayiana.
