Lontar with seven leaves written with a single central line of script in a fine hand, the verso illustrated with scenes from the Ramayana, the leaves 29.7 x 3.2 cms, strung between two bamboo batons by a central cord threaded through two Balinese coins, the leaves fading, but overall in good condition. Decorative lontar for the tourist market (the text beginning mid-line).
Condition: Very good. Manuscript written on palm leaves and bound with a single string between two bamboo covers. Covers and edges one time lacquered in red, not showing only traces due to wear. The binding string is secured with a green bead, possibly jade. The script, which is an older, cursive style, is nicely legible. The leaves are 6½ incvhed long by 1 inch wide. .
