Centre Is The Red Winged American Eagle Over A Scroll With The Word Achievement In Gilt. Although There Has Been Gentle Rubbing To The Boards The Tips Are Good And The Spine Ends Show Only Very Gentle Use. The Top Block Edge Is Gilt With A Small Scuff. A Lovely Tribute To The Work Of The Printers And Engravers Of The Time. A Great Historical Record. A Very Heavy Book, Please Ask For Shipping Estimate Before Ordering.

There are a few small tears to three of the illustrations (nothing major) but overall in wonderful shape.This is an over-sized (and very overweight) book. Five pictures do not do this book justice. Thick, stamped (faux) leather/cloth over boards, 488 pp. Approx. 9.25" x 12.5" x 3", with a top gilt edge. Good Condition. Please examine photos closely. Wear, aging, soiling to covers. Some loss to rear cover. Binding is firm. Moderate play to joints, gutters appear to have been reinforced or redone- this is a heavy book, and will require additional shipping instead of the charges typically assigned.
