Item Description: Reilly and Britton. Chicago., 1918. Hardcover. Book Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. This is a hand made high school year book assembled by Elizabeth Vogel who attended Central High School in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She graduated in 1918. Book size about 6 by 9 inches. Bound in tan cloth over boards with front cover gilt lettering, image of a young woman--decorated spine. One of those early Yearbooks where the publisher provided an outline of what to enter in the book and then the student filled-in the book in whatever manner they chose. Many hand written entries from classmates, teachers and friends. Also contains several pages of various school related memorabilia. Laid-in are several pieces of miscellanea relating to her graduation. I could say this is rare, but it is actually unique, one of a kind, as are all these old hand-made yearbooks. A reference book for Women's Studies showing how the young girl of the World War One era was educated. This is one volume in a collection of some 65 of these old Yearbooks ranging from the late 1800's to the 1930's mostly from the Midwest which will be in my book seller catalog titled 'Women'. Hinges cracked; usual wear and tear from constant handling while being assembled. VERY GOOD Language: eng. Signed by Author(s). Bookseller Inventory # 15580

Item Description: The Reilly & Lee Co. Chicago, 1920. Hardcover. Book Condition: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. This is a hand made high school year book assembled by Helen G Bunnell who attended Solomon High School in Solomon, Kansas. She graduated in 1920. Book size about 6 by 9 inches. Bound in tan cloth over boards with front cover gilt lettering and image of a young woman--decorated spine. One of those early Yearbooks where the publisher provided an outline of what to enter in the book and then the student filled-in the book in whatever manner they chose. First page has a photo of the 17 member Senior Class followed by 16 photos two to a page--most with captions. Students apparently used printed calling cards in those days and one enterprising young man's card states that he does 'Monkey Kissing - Bear Hugging' with no helpers. Also pages hand written by classmates, friends and teachers. Several pieces of school related material laid-in or glued on. Interestingly, Miss Bunnell listed her classmates and noted what had happened to them since graduation. I could say this is rare, but it is actually unique, one of a kind, as are all these old hand-made yearbooks. A reference book for Women's Studies showing how the young girl of the 1920's was educated. This is one volume in a collection of some 65 of these old Yearbooks ranging from the late 1800's to the 1930's mostly from the Midwest which will be in my book seller catalog titled 'Women'. Item Description: Reilly and Britton. Chicago., 1923. Hardcover. Book Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. This is a hand made high school year book assembled by Veda L Carnes who attended New Salem High School in New Salem, North Dakota. She graduated in 1923. Book size about 6 by 9 inches. Bound in tan cloth over boards with front cover gilt lettering and image of a young woman. One of those early Yearbooks where the publisher provided an outline of what to enter in the book and then the student filled-in the book in whatever manner they chose. This is an unusual example of the type in that the student filled-in the book during her high school graduation year and then continued on with additional entries into the 1940's. She apparently became a teacher and there are entries here from her pupils, one of which today would probably get the child thrown out of school for racism. Many hand written entries from classmates and relatives and even three pages of cartoons, two of U. S. Geological Survey crew members along with their names and addresses. The book is filled with hand written entries and a very minimum of memorabilia I could say this is rare, but it is actually unique, one of a kind, as are all these old hand-made yearbooks. A reference book for Women's Studies showing how the young girl of the 1920's was educated. This is one volume in a collection of some 65 of these old Yearbooks ranging from the late 1800's to the 1930's mostly from the Midwest which will be in my book seller catalog titled 'Women'. Item Description: The Reilly and Britton Co.,, Chicago:, 1906. First edition.. [AMERICAN WOMEN: SCRAPBOOK DESIGNED FOR 'GIRL GRADUATE': 1906]. (PERRETT, Louise). THE GIRL GRADUATE: Her Own Book. Designed and Illustrated by Louise Perrett and Sarah K. Smith. Octavo, decorative white cloth spine, decorated paper-covered boards (with attractive floral design on spine), 176 pages, (designed and) illustrated by Louise Perrett and Sarah K. Smith. A "blank" book, organized into sections, designed to be used as a scrapbook by a young woman graduating from secondary school or college. An attractive publication, with each page headed with various sections devoted to scrapbook headings: "Class Photographs," "Class Autographs," "The Teachers," "Social Events," etc. Each section begins with an appealing pictorial vignette (often of female students), or with a decorated border, printed in color. Uncommon [OCLC locates nine holdings (the last three are noted as having been "completed" by a graduate): Missouri Historical Society, Duke, Smith, Cornell, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin-Madison, Peru State, New York State Historical Society, and Colorado College]. A fine, bright (unused) copy in publisher's unprinted glassine jacket, housed in publisher's lidded pictorial box. The glassine has few creased tears; the lidded box (with large pictorial onlay on upper cover) has moderate brown stain to fore-edge margin of pictorial label, the upper cover has begun to split at two corners (with neat internal archival mends), else very good. Both the publisher's glassine and lidded box have kept the binding exceptionally fresh and bright. Bookseller Inventory # 67505
