I dag känner vi honom som en av Stockholms trubadurer och Bellmans föregċngare, som upphovsmannen till den sorgesamma men livsbejakande visan "Skulle jag sörja dċ voro jag tokot". Känd är han även för att ha hamnat i fängelse för en bröllopsdikt och för att en tidig gryningstimme ha avlidit i en vċldsam drabbning, ungefär som han själv hade förutspċtt, bland bänkar och bord inne pċ en av Stockholms mċnga vinkällare.I dag finns inga kända avbildningar av Lasse Johansson Lucidor. De biografiska uppgifterna är därtill fċ. Men hans korta och turbulenta liv gjorde avtryck i den svenska historien, och frċgorna lever kvar om vem den begċvade poeten egentligen var. I "Jag, en olycklig spċman" placeras Lucidor i sitt historiska sammanhang samtidens kulturella föreställningar om vċld, ära, lycka och poeternas villkor som fördjupar bilden av honom, av stormaktstidens Sverige och westfaliska fredens Europa.
