This book, set in the mid 1800's, chronicles the adventures of trapper, Bundy, as he explores the untamed wilderness of Michigan and encounters a mysterious Pottawatomie Indian, Moccasin. Beyond their adventures together, the author invites conversation about the expulsion of Native American tribes from their lands, and the violence that ensued at the hands of white invaders. The text compellingly presents insights into the lives of Native Americans, their struggles to preserve their culture and customs, and the disheartening effects of territorial seizure on their communities throughout history.
