"Son grade de lieutenant de vaisseau (il est sorti premier de Navale) impressionne les membres de la Commune qui nomment Lullier, alors âgé de 38 ans, commandant en chef de la Garde Nationale le 18 mars. Malheureusement son incapacité éclate au grand jour, et il est vite destitué et emprisonné. Condamné à mort malgré les services rendus à Versailles (?) qu'il revendique à son procès, peine commuée en travaux forcés à perpétuité. Il est déporté à l'île de Nou en qualité de bagnard de droit commun. Il n'aura plus d'activité publique jusqu'à son retour en France, et il mourra à Panama en 1891. Ses souvenirs, écrits à la troisième personne, sont entrecoupés de digressions philosophiques et politiques, mais sous la confusion on découvre un homme cultivé (trois citations latines dans les trois premières pages) aux idées très avancées, et ils méritent d'être lus. Le récit s'arrête à son arrivée en Nouvelle-Calédonie, et à son premier moi de cachot à l'île de Nou." (Le Quillec). Bon exemplaire malgré quelques rousseurs, essentiellement sur les tranches. 1881.
