Covers are worn with carboard showing at corners. Spine is worn at ends and edges. Back endpapers have pieces of the pocket and date slip. Pages show wear with spotting. The book is comple with all 7 engravings and the fold out map.

Bookplate to front pastedown endpaper of Rear Admiral William Henry Webley Parry (with damage). Signed to leading blank by his wife, Maria Washington Webley-Parry. Below this is another signature, possible their daughter Ellen Webley Parry. Interesting account of the failed expedition to reach Repulse Bay and then go overland to the Kent Peninsula. TAYLOR 1825 on title. *With a detailed Abstract of the Days' Works, and a Botanical Appendix [pp.87-198] by Professor [WILLIAM JACKSON] HOOKER. The William Taylor who has signed the title-page could be one of the two such-named crew members of Cook's final voyage. He was still living in 1825, though I have not been able to verify the signature.
