Colour plate as frontispiece; monochrome plates and illustrations in the text; illustrated title page. Publisher's book catalogue at rear. Boards rubbed with fairly heavy edgewear; corners bumped; spine slightly cocked. Prize certificate on front pastedown (dated 1904). Endpapers toned. Light foxing and soiling to some pages. Gutters starting to crack in a couple of places.

(Including 6 full page colour chromolithographs). (No. 4322) Not dated but believed to be late 19th century. Some bumping and scuffing to the edges of the boards but no additions from the previous owners apart from a gifting dedication on the front free end paper. Hardback, illustrated, 4 colour plates many further illustrations in the text, the pages are unnumbered C. 100. the date is from an owner's inscription. The book is bound in rubbed but sound pictorial cloth with a cloth spine. The pastedown has an ow ner's inscription. There is some light foxing throughout, one of the colour plates is partially detached.

Boards are colorful w/rubbing & bumping to corners & spine ends; damp stain runs along both upper & lower board edges.; firm binding. Damp stain leaks onto all pages up to 1" into lower margin; juvenile pen markings on endpapers, otherwise, pages are clear & sharp throughout. A very nice reading copy. Book.

There is a noticeable scuff to the word "Sunny" on the title page but all else is extremely clean and firm inside. The boards are firm with some small light marks and minor edge wear.

A much loved book of stories for children.

It was printed in Bavaria and has the number 296. Some pages are loose and others have closed tears but are in good condition. There is edge wear and soiling to the covers, corners are chipped. 16 full-page chromolithographs plus b/w text illustrations. A vintage children's book. book.
