Underlining to first few pages. 4 pages of early notation on rear end pages. Restoration to engraved title and margins. Toning and spotting. Scarce Latvian imprint. Johann Arndt was a noted German Lutheran theologian. He is seen as a forerunner of pietism. Wahres Christentum (True Christianity) is his most famous book. In Wahres, Arndt deals with the mystical union between the believer and Christ. He endeavors to draw attention to Christ's life in his people, rather than some reformation theologies over-attention to Christ's death for his people.
