Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. Original printed wraps 17x24cm. 54pp Arabic text with many b/w maps and colour photos. Near fine. Part of a series of papers issued jointly by the Geography Department of Kuwait University, and the Kuwait Geographical Society. Its Editorial Board included the University's Head of Geography Dr Abdullah Al-Ghunaim, and KGS President Ibrahim Al-Shatti. They published papers of direct interest to countries in the Arabian Gulf, as well as more general and widely applicable studies. These were either prepared in Kuwait, or translated from other sources usually by Geography Department staff with a new introduction. Based on fieldwork combined with aerial photos and maps, this identifies two types of marine intrusion along the Qatari coast, through bays (Al Khowar or Al Dohat), and temporary coastal lakes or lagoons. The study focuses on bays, describing simple and complex types.
