Condition: Good. 1957. 328 pages. Beige jacket over blue cloth. Inscription to front endpaper. Pages are clean and bright with a firm binding. Endpapers and page edges are lightly tanned and foxed. Boards are a little rub worn, slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are mildly crushed. Tanning to spine and edges. Despite faults, which do not really amount to much, a very acceptable copy nudging VG rating. Uncommon outside South Africa, this was an important and, for the time, highly enlightened work in which MacCrone advanced a 'frontier hypothesis' to explain rabid racism and invoked Freudian concepts where appropriate, in some ways an anticipation of the 'authoritarian personality' concept.
