This would be a very good copy in a near very good dustwrapper but unfortunately the pages have suffered from paper adhesion at some point and a few of the drawings have been damaged when clearing the adhesion. The great majority however are unaffected. The book contains 169 scraperboard drawings, done in the 1950s, of Clyde-built ships. "Each drawing is accompanied by a clear text, identifying the ship, the builder, the owner, the gross tonnage and the year built." Ships built by 22 Clyde shipyards are included.

Internally very good; prize plate dated 1905 to paste down; free of other inscriptions; copiously illustrated with text and full page b/w drawings plus coloured frontispiece; binding tight; no foxing; pages lightly tanned; 160pp + adverts to front and rear. No date c 1904. Very scarce title and no record of a holding in copyright or other major libraries.

Leather Binding. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Without Dust Wrapper. Good - three quarter leather binding with five raised bands, blind decoration and gilt title on the spine, marbled boards, head of the text block has been burnished. Printed date on the final page of July 1835. Corners bumped and rounded, wear to the extremities (particularly at the corners and head/tail of the spine), previous owners signature on front paste down, earlier gift dedication on the title page, pages tanned with the slightest of foxing on one or two pages otherwise contents clean, bright and tight.
