Hardback. Condition: Very Good. Presumed First Edition. 1937. Presumed first edition. 120pp. This educational book starts with a brief historical introduction, in English, to French explorers in Tasmania. Following are extracts, in French, from the works of Francoise Peron, Alexandre Dumas and the Comte de Beauvoir. The extracts… have been revised by Professor G.G. Nicholson, of the University of Sydney. At the end of the book are short notes and a vocabulary. The book is bound in the original green cloth covered boards with black titling on the spine and front board. The case of the book is in very good condition with shelf wear and light soiling to the boards. The spine ends are bumped and there is some rubbing down the spine edges. The contents are tight and clean with a few pages of the French text having useful pencil notes to aid translation. A name has been written on the rear free endpaper.
