Dust Jacket Condition: dj. First Edition. Small octavo (19cm). Illustrated paper-covered boards; dustjacket; 118pp; illus. Boards faded at outer margins, rubbed on edges; brief dusting to edges of text block; Very Good. In the scarce pictorial jacket, price-clipped and with small losses at spine ends; about Very Good. Humorous mock-juvenile Depression novel (somewhat in the vein of Ring Lardner's The Young Immigrunts) in which an orphan is raised by his uncle, a professional grifter. Played for humor, but a gritty work.
