Colour frontis + 3 other colour plates and b/w illustrations. First story is 'The Buccaneer of the Blue' by Mackenzie. Covers edge worn. Spine worn with splits at top. Frontis is detached but still present. Damp stain to margin of frontis. Contents are heavily browned. Hinges pulled and cracked causing contents to be loose. Packaged with care and promptly dispatched!

First Edition. First edition. Original embossed brown cloth, gilt title on spine. Hinges sound, but cloth peeling away from the right side of the spine for most of its length (repaired). Association copy with ownership signature of conchologist J. Gwyn Jeffreys on front free endpaper. With a preface by Miller's wife, who also undoubtedly had a hand in bringing the volume to press. Miller committed suicide in 1856.
