Bookplate and Holy Cross Abbey inscription to inside front board. List of subscribers to front; two contents leaves to rear. Inscription in old hand to t.p.: 'N D de la Trappe Stapehill': the community de la Sainte Croix de Notre Dame de la Trappe, a small group of Cistercian nuns fleeing the French Revolution, founded Stapehill Abbey in 1802, the site having been given to them by the 8th Lord Arundell of Wardour. The community is now at Whitland Abbey, in Pembrokeshire. The Ven. Luis of Granada's Memorial de la Vida Cristiana was first published in 1565. Blom & Blom 1684; ESTC T122820. Robust packaging.
