Edition not stated. Octavo (21cm); blue publisher's cloth, stamped in gilt on front, no dustwrapper; 296pp, frontis. Minor wear and soiling to boards; gilt scratched; textblock edges slightly foxed with stray marks, pages toned at margins. Very Good overall. Michael James McHugh, a Providence newspaper writer forty years running (according to a 1934 issue of the Rhode Island Library Association Bulletin), penned this novel that centers around the happenings of Providence's Fox Point district. In particular, it focuses on the lives and families of a group of elderly Park Commissioners who regularly find themselves lured to the shady benches of Tockwotton Park.
