First Edition. 1972. xxx, 271pp. "Some of the songs of Domhnall Ruadh Mac an t-Saoir, or Donald MacIntyre were widely known during his own lifetime, and a few of his longer poems had been published, particularly in 'Gairm'. It was not generally known, however, that he was so prolific writer . Close on 10,000 line of his verse have survived, the greater part of in his own hand, and some in copies made by friends. . The Scottish Gaelic Text Society has departed from its normal policy , in presenting the works of a recent poet (MacIntyre dies in 1964). No translation has been given in this edition, but an extensive Glossary has been provided, together with notes on the background of the poems". Item Description: K. And R. Davidson, Printers, Glasgow, Scotland, 1952. Hardcover. Book Condition: Fair. No Jacket. Blue book is in fair condition with edgewear, some discoloration on back cover, warped boards, slight discoloration inside the front cover and a MacMillan family crest book plate inside the front cover. No DJ. A MacMillan Family Tree is secured inside the back cover. The book is written objectively and in an endeavour to unravel the tangled threads of ancient tradition and legend, as they affect the Clan whose story it records and whose history has not been written before. Perhaps its publication may result in the discovery of more records in family chests and archives, from a study of which the author may be enabled to produce further and even better documented editions.
