First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Fine. First Edition; First Printing. Stiff unmarked book in crisp dust jacket barely rubbed on rear panel. ; 80 pages; A collection of stunning black-and-white photographs taken during a 2010 trip to Kenya and Tanzania. It captures the beauty of the African landscape, wildlife, and especially the people (particularly children). Andrew MacNaughtan was a renowned Canadian rock photographer and video director, best known for his long collaboration with the band Rush (their primary photographer for ~20 years). He created this book as a fundraising project for World Vision and his own charity Art Gives Hope. Proceeds supported child sponsorship and humanitarian work in Africa. Many musicians (including Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, Celine Dion, Bryan Adams, etc. ) contributed personal commentary/poems alongside selected photos. MacNaughtan passed away suddenly in January 2012 from a heart attack while on tour with Rush.
